Our curriculum is continually evolving and improving to meet the needs of the pupils in our school.

Implementation of Our Curriculum

  • Provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which is underpinned by aims, values and purpose which develops the whole person.  It develops the children’s knowledge and skills across the entire curriculum and develops a deep understanding whilst instilling good learning attitudes.  There is clear progression in subject knowledge and skills
  • Ensure all children use key reading, communication and mathematical skills to enable them to access the whole curriculum 
  • Ensure knowledge and skills are built on sequentially from Nursery to Year 6 across all subject areas
  • Ensure that teaching across all phases and subjects is consistent with the Teaching, Learning and Assessment policy and best practice
  • Instil resilience with a love of learning
  • Ensure children are very well placed to succeed in the next stage of their learning
  • Understand and celebrate the diversity of communities
  • Equip children to have a positive impact on their community and understand local, national and global issues.
  • Provide trips and experiences to ensure all children have the opportunity to have first-hand experiences

Outcomes/Impact

  • Children achieve excellent outcomes
  • Progress in all subjects, across all phases is at least good
  • The gap is narrowed for vulnerable groups of children
  • All children know their value and worth
  • Children show resilience and love learning
  • Children take responsibility for their own learning
  • Transition is seamless and children thrive in the next stage of education
